Drawing 317  ~ of the 91 year old hands of my Oncle Walter, held in my cousin’s caring hands in his final hour.

These hands born in Austria, went through history of the times; fighting in the Austrian Alps with trepidation during WW2;
~ were trained to be a ‘Friseur’, a men’s hair stylist, and then immigrated to Canada to work in the factories;
~ held his new wife, his stepson and baby girl;
~ sporty hands that rode bicycles. played tennis for most of his life and taught tennis to his children; …and in my memory;  hands that animated conversations. jokes…and his moustache with a flourish!
The time had come in his life where his hands were dealing with the fragility of getting old, falling down and needing to be cared for. The time had come to let go.
